12" Purple Haze - Marla Leigh Series Frame Drum

This Purple Haze model  is offers a completely different drumming experience than the other two drums in the Marla Leigh Series.  At 12" diameter, this is an agile drum with a significant "punch." The shell, 4 3/4" deep, is substantively deeper than other drums in this series. The standard Remo® Ebony head extends the midrange tonal palette. We’ve dramatically rolled the exterior, playing-side edge (a “roundover bevel”), giving this drum a fat mellow sound with reduced overtones. This design facilitates fast finger-snaps and split-hand techniques, supporting the exploration of the Persian, Indian and Turkish drumming techniques that Marla brings to her performances and teachings. This drum is standard with a dark "purple haze" stain, purple cording, and a thumb hole. Average weight is 660 grams (app. 1.5 lbs), pitch E-A possible, F-G best range.
