Thinking about the various drums embellished with rings, I’d have to say that the differences are substantive. It’s reductive to say that they’re all hoops with jingling rings.
We make drums inspired by traditional Dayerehs, Ghavals, and Dafs ( and I’m always thinking about Doyras as well). The drums' design specifications are intentional, matched, to the desired sound and playing style/position.

It's difficult to pin a weight on a particular model drum, but we do make an effort to keep our eye on the average weight of the models, and it is most certainly a consideration in our design of drums, as well as a major consideration for many players.
