Artist Innovation Series artist Rowan Storm is recognized internationally as a performer and educator. Her travels throughout Iran have given her a deep understanding of Persian Classical music, the role of women in ancient, sacred percussion traditions. Rowan is pioneering in her exploration of a "symmetrical frame drum position. Our Rowan Storm Dayereh reflects her multicultural approaches to drumming and is designed to emphasize an ease of playing and musicality, as well as an integration of the two brain hemispheres.
Inspired by traditional Persian dayerehs, the overall dimensions and light weight construction of this drum, combine to create a notably well-balanced drum, particularly accessible for entry-level players. More advanced drummers will discover that the design facilitates a broad range of expressiveness within universal musical genres. This frame design features a narrow wall and shallow depth, The short frame height enables Rowan's pioneering symmetrical playing position, enhancing creative expression while promoting balance between both hands and also both brain hemispheres.
