16" MarlaTar - Marla Leigh Series Frame Drum

The Marla Leigh Tar is designed to offer both introductory and advanced players a drum that is easy to handle, and offers effortless access to a variety of playing styles. The shallow 3.5" depth, mid-size diameter, and light single-ply steam bent Vermont Cherry wood frame, combined with the traditional thumb hole, facilitates expressive performance, especially when playing the drum in the upright position. The distinctive graphic and Marla Signature orange/red stain reflects the spirit and energy of Marla's approach to frame drumming. The hamsa overlay on the drum shell recalls the powerful history of frame drums, and how they were used for wellness and healing in cultures all over the world. This tar is standard with purple cording; you may choose a REMO Renaissance drum head, or REMO Ebony for a warmer timbre.
