Designed for drummers who play primarily in the "lap-style" or "free-hand style", these drums are essentially a Cooperman Classic model drum with added depth - 4.75" (12 cm) instead of the classic 4" (10.16 cm), AND NO THUMBHOLE.  The added depth makes the drum more stable on your leg, and the added depth gives it a little more sonic "punch."
