Cooperman Classic Tars are crafted in our standard dimensions as listed here, or can be customized as a Classic Bendir, or a Classic Lap Style Tar or Bendir.
Our Cooperman Classic Tars, crafted of single-ply steam bent Vermont cherry wood, are available in diameters from 12" to 22". Our standard depth is 4". Each drum is finished with instrument grade lacquer, hand buffed and waxed, and is made with a thumb hole.. We hand mount our recommended Remo Renaissance synthetic head; you can also choose the Remo Ebony Suede synthtic head for an additional cost.
These Classic Tars are also available as Bendirs. Our Classic Bendirs have the same drum specifications as the tar, but are fitted with 4 strands of snare string that create the characteristic buzz sound of Morrocan/North African style drums.
